We thought about an idea around bubbles.
Soap Bubble –
- Freedom, own choice of direction
- Never Ending, continuous circle
- Join together
- Distorted view
We liked the idea of this bubble as we thought we could relate it to Plan UK and the target audience, we also thought it’d be a good way to get the audience involved for a day with activities. We would have to be careful not to portray the girls as victims.
Bubble Wrap –
- Distorted view
- Keeps warm
- Relieves stress and frustration
- Want and a need to pop
This idea of using bubble wrap really stud out for us, we thought about using it as an infographic poster, creating a design where the public can get involved with the popping or filling of the bubbles, it’d be a strong and fun way to show facts to the audience.
Speech Bubble –
- Show what someone is thinking/saying
We liked the idea of the speech bubble as it shows exactly what that person is saying, we thought this would be a strong message to the audience if we related it to what the girls in our campaign are saying and how Plan has helped them create a future for themselves.
- Happens fast – down hills (life goes downhill)
- Be inside the bubble
- In all directions
We thought this would be a great way if we were to put on an activity day, it’s allow the audience to get involved.
Out of all of these ideas, the bubble wrap idea really stood out for us, our idea from here was to create an infograpic map and fill the bubbles with different inks to show the audience where Plan UK has helped, this would show the scale of how much more work there is left to do. After having talked about our idea with the lecturers, they said that it didn’t communicate the message or purpose of Plan UK across strongly or appropriately. We liked the bubble idea and believed that there was something in it, therefore we looked at punctuation, speech bubble – speech marks, we then thought about how powerful and important speech is and at the end of the day we need to communicate this message across to the audience as that is the brief. We then took the speech mark idea and developed our ideas from there.
